SYRACUSE, N.Y. (Dec. 22,2025) – The Stonehill men's basketball team dropped a 77-48 decision on the road at Syracuse to close out the 2025 calendar year on Monday evening.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Junior guard Davante Hackett led the Skyhawks with 12 points with nine of them coming from beyond the arc.
- Sophomore guard Hermann Koffi reached double figures for the 12th time this season, netting 10 points on the Orange.
- Junior center Ridvan Tutic came one rebound shy of reaching double digits for the third straight game, pulling down nine, while adding five points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Orange jumped out in front early to take a 12-2 lead within the first four minutes of the contest. Senior guard
Rex Sunderland halted the scoring draught by knocking a down a three-point jumper. But it did not stop the Syracuse offense as they increased their lead to 11 midway through the period.
The Skyhawks fought tough and hung around. Late in the first period, sophomore guard
Hermann Koffi drained a corner three to pull the Skyhawks back to single digits.
Early in the second half, Stonehill made it a two-possession game on another trey by Sunderland. It was as close as they would get as the Orange put their offense into another gear with a 9-2 run to take a 13-point lead and never looked back.
