Box Score DELAND, Fla. (Dec. 20, 2025) – Brooke Paquette and
Ella Pelletier both notched double-doubles, but the Stonehill women's basketball team fell to Stetson in the Hatter Classic by a score of 71-65 Saturday morning.
The Skyhawks move to 4-6 (0-0 NEC), while the Hatters go to 7-3 (0-0 Atlantic Sun).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Brooke Paquette recorded the first double-double of her career, as she grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds, to go along with 17 points. Paquette was also 9-of-9 from the foul line.
- Ella Pelletier also posted her first-career double-double scoring 11 points and adding a career-best 10 rebounds.
- In the second quarter, Stonehill outscored Stetson, 24-10.
- Emma Arcà tallied a career-high 15 points, going 6-of-11 from the field.
- The Skyhawks had another strong game at the foul line, shooting 16-of-16 (1.000).
- Julia Webster rejected four shots, a new career-best for blocks in a game. Webster also added 13 points.
- Saturday's game marked the first meeting between Stonehill and Stetson.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Brooke Paquette netted two of Stonehill's first three buckets, but the Skyhawks trailed, 11-6, at the first media timeout at 4:11. Later in the opening quarter, Paquette converted a conventional three-point play, as Stonehill got within three, 14-11. Paquette finished the quarter with 11 points, but Stetson led, 20-15.
After
Julia Webster completed an and-one, the Skyhawks trailed by just one, 23-22, with just under eight minutes to play in the first half. Stonehill went ahead on a fastbreak layup by Webster moments later, and then
Emma Arcà added to the lead with a jumper, 28-25. The Skyhawks continued to attack the basket and opened up a 37-25 advantage, going on a 22-4 run during the second quarter. Overall, Stonehill outscored Stetson, 24-10, in the frame to take a 39-30 lead into the break.
In the third, the Skyhawks and Hatters traded baskets for much of the frame, with Stonehill owning a 49-43 lead at the media timeout at the 4:43 mark. Stetson came back to tie the game, 51-51, with 2:52 remaining in the stanza, but Stonehill went back on top, 57-54, heading into the fourth.
In the final frame, Webster broke a 59-59 tie with a conventional three-point play, and then she drilled a trey to put the Skyhawks up, 65-59. After the Hatters cut the deficit to 65-64, Stetson went ahead, 67-65, with just under three minutes to go and held on for the victory.
