SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (December 6, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's hockey team capped off its third weekend sweep of the season with a 6–0 victory over NEWHA foe Saint Michael's College on Saturday night at Cairns Arena. With the win, the Skyhawks improved to 8-9-1 overall and 8-5-1 in conference play, while the Purple Knights fell to 1-14 overall and 1-13 in NEWHA action.

How It Happened
Following a scoreless first 19 minutes of the opening frame, Stonehill broke through with 26 seconds remaining when Whynot and Walkom connected with Combe, who redirected her third goal of the season into the back of the net to send the Skyhawks into the break with a 1–0 advantage.
Just under four minutes into the second period, Stonehill extended its lead to three with back-to-back goals at the 2:13 and 3:47 marks, coming off the sticks of Spadone and Achtyl, respectively. Achtyl added her second of the frame at 12:09 on the power play, pushing her season total to 13 goals—currently the NEWHA-leading mark.
Carrying a four-goal cushion into the third, Stonehill's top defensive pairing delivered the final blows, as Russell and Spadone found the back of the net at 6:42 and 18:23 to cap the scoring. The Skyhawks sealed a decisive 6–0 shutout victory, completing the weekend sweep and closing out the first half of the regular season on a high note.
