Men’s Basketball Falls at FDU, 82-69

Skyhawks close out road schedule with a 3-12 record, 2-6 on the road in NEC play

HACKENSACK, N.J. (February 27, 2025) – The Stonehill College men's basketball team dropped its Northeast Conference road finale at the Bogota Savings Bank Center Thursday night, 82-69.

LEADERS
  • Sophomore Louie Semona (Cincinnati, Ohio) led Stonehill with 24 points and nine rebounds, making 11 of his 20 shot attempts.
  • Freshman Hermann Koffi (Quebec City, Quebec) had a 16-point night, making three of his four three-point attempts.
  • Junior Chas Stinson (Charlotte, N.C.) tallied 12 points and eight rebounds in 34 minutes of action.
  • FDU's Terrence Brown notched 24 points with five assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Dylan Jones scored 17 points, going 5-8 from the field and 4-7 from deep.
FIRST HALF
  • A quick three followed by a steal and score from the Knights gave FDU a 20-11 lead near the midway point of the first half with Stonehill missing its first seven three-point attempts.
  • After going down by 12, 29-17, Stonehill went on a 9-0 run with Koffi making the first three of the game for the Skyhawks as Stonehill trailed by just three, 29-26.
  • FDU scored the final seven points of the first half, leading 36-26 at the break as the Knights shot 6-14 (42.9%) from deep.
SECOND HALF
  • Jones opened the second half with a three for the Knights as FDU outscored Stonehill 16-8 in the first four minutes of action, building a 52-34 lead.
  • The Knights led by at least 12 for the remainder of the game, countering the Skyhawks as they tried to put multiple runs together in the second half. Semona's 16 points and Koffi's 11 kept Stonehill within striking distance but Brown also scored 16 second-half points to secure the 82-69 win for FDU.
  • Stonehill outrebounded FDU 42-33 and 13-8 on the offensive glass in the loss.
NOTEWORTHY
  • Stonehill is now 1-5 against FDU all time, dropping four straight against the Knights.
  • Semona scored 20+ points for the seventh time this season, a team-best mark as he is now the team's leading scorer at 12.5 points per game. Semona also recorded a career-high nine rebounds.
  • Sophomore Todd Brogna (Southborough, Mass.) has now recorded at least six rebounds in 12 of the last 14 games as he leads the team and ranks fourth in the NEC at 6.7 per game.

  • Stonehill men's basketball (14-16, 6-9 NEC) will celebrate its senior class on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. before a Northeast Conference matchup against Le Moyne College (9-21, 4-11 NEC) at Merkert Gymnasium.
