Men's Tennis Falls on the Road to Bryant, 6-1

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (March 2, 2025) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team suffered a 6-1 defeat on the road Sunday night at the Forecourt Tennis Club against non-conference opponent Bryant University. With the loss, the Skyhawks' record dropped to 5-4 overall, while the Bulldogs improved to 6-3 on the season.
 
Highlights
  • Sophomore Alexis Chastang posted the lone win for the Skyhawks on the day at the No. 5 singles position.
  • Freshmen Forbes Hollingsworth and Manveer Boparai paved the way for Bryant as individual double winners on the day.
  • Sophomore Andrew Kelley, junior Myles Peterson, and freshman Miguel Angel Machado added singles triumphs for the Bulldogs.
How It Happened
  • Following a clean sweep for Bryant throughout doubles competition, Angel Machado secured his individual double win on the day with a 6-0, 6-4 victory over freshman Guillermo Bennaton at No. 1 singles.
  • Freshman Nicolas Arredondo battled Peterson at No. 2 singles. However, Peterson prevailed victorious, 7-6, 6-3, improving the match score to 3-0 in favor of the Bulldogs.
  • Boparai clinched the overall match victory for Bryant with a 6-4, 6-0 win over senior Jacob Wilhelm Krefting at No. 3 singles.
  • Kelley and Hollingsworth capped off the point scoring for Bryant with respective victories at No. 4 and No. 6 singles.
  • Chastang secured the lone point for the Skyhawks with an 8-4 win over sophomore Alec Martinez on the No. 5 singles court.
