Baseball Drops Non-Conference Midweek Matchup to Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (April 15, 2025) – The Stonehill College baseball team dropped its non-conference midweek matchup to Harvard, 19-4, after seven innings Tuesday afternoon in Cambridge, Massachusetts. With the loss, the Skyhawks fell to 10-21 overall, while the Crimson improved to 6-21 on the season.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Junior Sean McGee and sophomore Ryan LeClair led the Skyhawks at the dish with their respective seventh and fifth multi-hit games of the season.
  • Junior Aidan Cohall drove home two of Stonehill's four runs on the afternoon, while sophomore Cam Morrison registered his second double of the season.
  • Freshman Tanyon Weber was tied for the game-high with four strikeouts over 1.2 innings of relief for the Skyhawks.
  • Seniors Matt Giberti and George Cooper paved the way for the Harvard offensive output, each tallying three hits on the day with a homerun.
  • Sophomore Tyler Shulman, junior Jordan Kang, and freshman Liam Wilson each added respective homeruns for the Crimson.
  • Sophomore Andrew Abler was tied for the game-high with Weber at four strikeouts over 2.0 innings of relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Harvard wasted no time establishing control, jumping out to a commanding 14-0 lead by the end of the second inning against Stonehill. The Crimson's early offensive surge was fueled by six walks and 10 base hits, including six extra-base hits—three of which left the ballpark.

Stonehill began to chip away at the deficit in the third and fourth innings, thanks to RBI hits from Cohall and LeClair. Cohall delivered a two-run double into the right-centerfield gap, while LeClair followed with an RBI single to left, bringing home graduate student Jack Thorbahn.

The Skyhawks added another run in the sixth inning when freshman Will Newton drew a bases-loaded walk. However, the early deficit proved too steep to overcome, and Stonehill ultimately fell to Harvard in the midweek matchup by a final score of 19-4.
