Thorbahn Belts His 10th as Baseball Drops Series Opener Against Le Moyne

EASTON, Mass. (April 17, 2025) – Graduate student Jack Thorbahn belted his team-leading 10th homerun of the season as the Stonehill College baseball team dropped its series opener, 15-1, to Northeast Conference (NEC) opponent Le Moyne College Thursday afternoon. With the loss, the Skyhawks fell to 10-22 overall and 9-7 in conference play, while the Dolphins improved to 12-19 overall and 11-5 against conference opponents.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Thorbahn launched his team-leading 10th homerun of the season and 26th of his overall collegiate career, 21 of those during his time dawning the Purple and White.
  • Sophomore Ryan LeClair reached base two times after being hit by a pitch twice throughout the conference meeting. LeClair has now been hit by a pitch 12 times this season, marking the third most among all batters in the NEC.
  • Freshmen Hunter Bell and Luke Dellentash as well as junior Gio Arzuaga combined to strike out seven total Le Moyne batters on the day.
  • Graduate student Max Parker pitched a complete game and struck out a career-high 14 batters while only allowing two hits and one run over 7.0 innings of work.
  • Freshman Derek Diaz, sophomore Jack Cannon, and sophomore Ethan Farina fueled the Dolphins' scoring output, each registering three runs batted in on the day.
  • Cannon blasted his fourth homerun of the season, while senior Wyatt Patchett tallied his first triple of the campaign.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first inning—highlighted by five combined strikeouts from Bell and Parker—Le Moyne struck first, plating three runs in the top of the second. The scoring surge was powered by an RBI single from sophomore Cooper Romich and a two-run base hit by Diaz, giving the Dolphins an early advantage.

Stonehill responded in the bottom half of the inning, cutting into the deficit with a solo home run off the bat of Thorbahn, who led off the frame with a shot over the center field wall. That blast narrowed the margin to 3-1, with seven innings still to play.

Le Moyne, however, would take firm control of the game from that point forward. The Dolphins broke the game open with five runs in the third, four more in the fifth, and another three in the top of the seventh, cruising to a commanding 15-1 victory in the opening game of the three-game series at Lou Gorman Field.
