EASTON, Mass. (April 15, 2025) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team recognized its two graduating seniors,
Jacob Wilhelm Krefting and
Guillaume Duhil de Bénazé, in a special Senior Day ceremony held prior to today's regular season finale against non-conference opponent Holy Cross. After dropping the match 6-1 to the Crusaders, Stonehill concludes the regular season with an overall record of 8-12 and will now turn its attention to the upcoming Northeast Conference (NEC) Postseason Tournament. With the win, Holy Cross improves to 8-10 on the season.

- First-year students Nicolas Arredondo and Guillermo Bennaton earned their ninth win of the year as a doubles pairing.
- Wilhelm Krefting picked up the lone singles win on the day for the Skyhawks, marking his team-leading 13th of the campaign.

How It Happened
- At No. 1 doubles, senior Jeremy Clark partnered with sophomore Sergio de la Plaza for a convincing 6-2 win over junior Mark Kröll and Wilhelm Krefting.
- Stonehill's duo of Arredondo and Bennaton responded with a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles, defeating sophomore Matt Carlson and junior Patrick Ling to even the doubles slate.
- Holy Cross clinched the doubles point at the No. 3 position, where Callery and Bizzarri earned a 6-3 win over sophomore Jacob Borch-Nielsen and Duhil de Bénazé.
- In singles play, De la Plaza secured his second win of the day with a 6-2, 6-2 decision over Bennaton at the No. 1 spot.
- At No. 2 singles, Borch-Nielsen pushed Carlson to three sets before falling 6-7, 6-2, 10-2 in a tightly contested match.
- Wilhelm Krefting provided Stonehill's lone point of the day at No. 3 singles, earning a 7-6, 6-1 victory over junior Camila Illanes.
- Callery sealed the team win for Holy Cross with a three-set triumph over Arredondo on court four.
- The Crusaders closed out the match with additional singles wins from Ling and Bizzarri, who defeated Kröll and junior Mateo Mallen at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

Stonehill (8-12, 1-4 NEC) now shifts its focus to the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship Tournament, set to begin on Thursday, April 17. The Skyhawks, seeded sixth, will travel to West Windsor, New Jersey, where they are slated to face No. 3 seed Long Island University (LIU) at 10 a.m. in the opening round.
