EASTON, Mass. (August 21, 2025) – Opening up their 2025 campaign, the Stonehill College men's soccer team fell to non-conference Colgate, 3-0, in a late Thursday afternoon contest. The Skyhawks begin the season at 0-1, while the Raiders move to 1-0 on the young year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a well-balanced throughout the majority of the first half. The Skyhawks looked poised to take an early lead 15 minutes into the contest, firing four shots at the Raider goalkeeper.
Ethan Marquis ripped a pair of shots towards the bottom of the net, but both were corralled by Colgate's Eric Widrick.
However, with under 10 minutes to play before heading into the break, the Raiders broke up the stalemate. Ryan Schachter connected with Cole Ramey to give Colgate the 1-0 lead heading to the second half.
When the second half commenced, the Raiders added to their lead in the 57
th minute with Schachter adding a goal to his first half assist. Three minutes later Colgate extended their lead to three with Ramey connecting with Jack Beerling in the 60
th minute.
The Skyhawks made a valiant comeback attempt with shots on net by
Owen Burke,
Chris Hines and
Ethan Sullivan, but they were unable to put the ball past Widrik, who registered seven saves on the day.
