WORCESTER, Mass. (September 28, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's tennis team wrapped up its two-day weekend at the Holy Cross Invitational in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Sunday afternoon.
On Saturday, the Skyhawks competed in singles play against Providence College and NEC opponent New Haven, collecting two victories against the Friars. First-year
Iliana deArmas and sophomore
Piper Remillard each earned wins at the No. 2 and No. 4 singles positions, respectively. deArmas defeated Gabriella Plonowski, 7-5, 6-3, while Remillard downed Audrey Magnusen, 7-5, 6-0. The duo now share the team lead with four singles victories apiece.
Stonehill shifted to doubles action on Sunday, matching up against Holy Cross, Providence, and New Haven. The Skyhawks notched five doubles wins overall, highlighted by strong performances from senior
Anneliese Beltran and deArmas, as well as sophomore
Arya Chabria and Remillard, who each posted two victories. First-year
Ella Franzese and senior
Camila Zuluaga Rodriguez also added their first doubles win of the season.
Beltran and deArmas earned a 7-6 (8-7) victory over Providence's Flora Eidson and Allison Root before topping Holy Cross' Phoebe Devine and Hannah Flynn, 6-2. Chabria and Remillard claimed a 6-2 win against New Haven's Valentinna Ferrarini and Sofia Lazaro, followed by a 6-1 triumph over the Crusaders' Maddie Hamm and Margaret Winiecki, pushing their team-leading doubles record to 8-3. Franzese and Zuluaga Rodriguez rounded out the weekend with a 6-3 win against Holy Cross' Ashley Zilora and Alison Lynn.
