EASTON, Mass. (September 30, 2025) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team opened its dual match slate with a 5-2 victory over former Northeast-10 Conference foe Franklin Pierce University. With the win, the Skyhawks improve to 1-0, while the Ravens drop to 0-2 on the year.
Sophomore
Nicolas Arredondo and juniors
Jacob Borch-Nielsen and
Alessandro Munoz highlighted the day for Stonehill, helping the Skyhawks sweep doubles play and secure four of six singles matchups.
Arredondo and Munoz teamed up at No. 2 doubles for a 6-4 win over Mathias Bonnefond and Roman Gonzalez, before each battled through three-set singles victories. Munoz outlasted Gonzalez at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, while Arredondo defeated Martin Dominguez, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, on the No. 4 court.
Borch-Nielsen partnered with senior
Mark Kröll for their first match together since the 2023-24 season, defeating Ruben Minguez and Dominguez at No. 1 doubles. Borch-Nielsen carried the momentum into singles play with a 7-6, 6-0 win over Orlando Guerrero at the No. 2 spot.
Freshman
Benjamin Beaudry and sophomore
Javier Gutierrez capped the doubles sweep with a 7-6 victory against Daniel Garcia and Guerrero, notching their team-leading fifth doubles win of the season.
At the top of the lineup, sophomore
Guillermo Bennaton dominated No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Minguez to round out Stonehill's scoring.
