BALTIMORE, Md. – The Stonehill volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to Quinnipiac, 3-1, and New Orleans (3-0) on the second day of the Towson-Morgan State Invitational on Saturday.

After dropping the first set, the Skyhawks stormed back and edged out the Bobcats, 27-25, in the second set to even the match. Senior
Mia Berardino registered a .273 attack percentage, tallying three kills on 11 attempts.
However, the Bobcats re-gained the lead pulling out the 27-25 win in the third set. Berardino was force for the Skyhawks in the third set hitting .308 with five kills. It was not enough as the Bobcats claimed the fourth and final set by a score of 25-22.
vs. NEW ORLEANS
In their second match of the day, Stonehill hung with New Orleans in each set, but they were unable to muster a win, falling 3-0.
Berardino led the Skyhawks, offensively, with 11 kills and came three digs shy of a double-double, tallying seven. Junior
Sammy Franco was outstanding at the net with five of the Skyhawks 18 block assists. Freshman
Kendra Sawyer paced the offense with 17 assists.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Mia Berardino registered 26 total kills against Quinnipiac and New Orleans.
- Junior Abby Farrell notched six solo blocks against Quinnipiac early in the day.
- Junior Sammy Franco recorded five block assists against New Orleans.
- As a team the Skyhawks tallied 19 total blocks – 18 block assists and one solo – against New Orleans.
