WEST HAVEN, Conn. (September 6, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's tennis team opened its 2025-26 season against NEC opponent New Haven. After securing the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions, the match was ultimately canceled due to inclement weather.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Junior
Julie Holte and sophomore
Lilah Shallcross secured their first win of the season at No. 1 doubles with a 6-4 victory over New Haven's Valentinna Ferrarini and Pierina Lescher.
The sophomore pairing of
Piper Remillard and
Arya Chabria clinched the doubles point for the Skyhawks with a 6-3 triumph against Leni Bischof and Petra Horvath. However, after play transitioned into singles, the match was suspended and eventually canceled due to inclement weather in the area.

Stonehill (0-0, 0-0 NEC) is back in action next weekend, traveling to Smithfield, Rhode Island, for the two-day Bryant Invitational.
