EASTON, Mass. (Jan. 15, 2026) – The Stonehill women's basketball team earned its second NEC win of the season, as the Skyhawks knocked off Saint Francis by a score of 59-57 at Merkert Gymnasium Thursday evening.
With the win, Stonehill improves its record to 6-10 (2-3 NEC), while the Red Flash falls to 1-15 (1-4 NEC).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Julia Webster, who played 39 minutes, scored all 15 of her points in the first half and finished with a career-high nine rebounds.
- The Skyhawks outscored the Red Flash, 22-8, in the second quarter, shooting 58.8 percent from the field in the stanza.
- Brooke Paquette drained three three-pointers and was 6-of-6 from the foul line. Paquette tallied 17 points and dished out six assists.
- Breana Delaney shot 5-of-8 from the field and had 10 points, to go along with four assists and three rebounds.
- Ella Pelletier tied her career-best with 10 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Saint Francis jumped out to an early 11-4 lead, but
Julia Webster nailed a trey to bring the Skyhawks back within two, 11-9, with just over three minutes left in the frame. Webster finished the first quarter with nine points, but Stonehill trailed, 21-13.
In the second, the Skyhawks went on a 7-0 run to get the deficit to 26-24 with 4:45 remaining in the half. Towards halftime, Stonehill continued to shoot the ball well and took a 35-29 lead into the break. Webster tallied 15 points in the first half, while Paquette added 10 points of her own.
Paquette hit her third three-pointer early in the third, as the Skyhawks went up by a margin of 45-33. After the Red Flash got back within four, 54-50, Saint Francis added another basket with 7:57 left in the contest to increase its scoring run to 9-0. With 1.7 seconds left and with Stonehill leading, 58-57,
Ella Pelletier was fouled and made one shot to make it a two-point game.

Stonehill (6-10, 2-3 NEC) will remain on its home court to welcome Mercyhurst (3-13, 3-2 NEC) on Saturday, Jan. 17 for 1 p.m. opening tip.
