EASTON, Mass. (Jan. 17, 2026) – The Stonehill women's basketball team dropped a home game to Mercyhurst by a score of 63-58 at Merkert Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
The Skyhawks fall to 6-11 (2-4 NEC), while the Lakers move to 4-13 (4-2 NEC).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Stonehill opened a 6-0 lead through the first four minutes of action and had a 8-4 advantage on the scoreboard at the first media timeout at the 4:19 mark. The Skyhawks led 13-11 after opening frame and pushed it to a six-point edge, 17-11, early in the second when
Ella Pelletier hit a turnaround jumper.
The teams traded baskets for much of the second, and the Skyhawks and Lakers headed to the locker room knotted, 26-26.
In the third with Mercyhurst holding a 36-34 lead,
Breana Delaney drilled a long jumper to tie things back up. With Stonehill on top, 48-47, midway through the fourth quarter,
Julia Webster made a jumper in the paint to keep the Skyhawks in front.
The Lakers responded with a 7-0 run to take a 54-50 lead, and then
Brooke Paquette drained a three to get the Skyhawks back within a point. In the final minute, Paquette found Webster for a jumper in the lane to cut Stonehill's deficit to 59-55 with 43.4 seconds left.

Stonehill (6-11, 2-4 NEC) will now head on the road for three-straight games, beginning with at LIU (10-7. 5-1 NEC) on Thursday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m.
