Skyhawks Net Four Unanswered, Top St. Lawrence 6-2 for Third Straight Win

CANTON, N.Y. (January 2, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's hockey team scored four unanswered goals Friday night at Appleton Arena to defeat St. Lawrence, 6–2, and secure its third straight victory. With the win, the Skyhawks improved to 4–13–1 overall, while the Saints fell to 2–16–1 on the season.

Highlights
How It Happened
St. Lawrence wasted little time opening the scoring, as just 30 seconds into the first period Sam LeDrew lit the lamp for his third goal of the season. Despite the early deficit, the Skyhawks responded with a pair of goals from Galante and Mexico to carry a 2–1 advantage into the first intermission.

The Saints evened the score at 3:34 of the second period when Filip Juricek converted on the power play for his sixth goal of the campaign. At the 15:32 mark of the middle frame, Gibson fired a shot from the neutral-zone red line that took an odd bounce off the glass before redirecting into the back of the net, standing as the eventual game-winning goal.

Three additional goals in the third period capped the scoring and sealed a decisive 6–2 victory for the Skyhawks. Ireland notched his second goal of the season on the power play at 5:53, before Grainda and Melady added goals at 12:25 and 18:15, respectively, with Melady's tally coming on the empty net.
