How It Happened
Following a back-and-forth opening 10 minutes that saw Stonehill earn the game's first power-play opportunity, Princeton struck twice in quick succession late in the first period. Sawyer Fleming opened the scoring with her third goal of the season at 12:24, before Issy Wunder added her 10th of the year at 14:37 to give the Tigers a 2-0 lead after one.
Princeton extended its advantage early in the second period, as just 65 seconds into the frame, Angelina DiGirolamo scored on the power play, going top shelf for her second goal of the season. The Tigers added three more goals in the period — one from Wunder and two from Mackenzie Alexander — to push the lead to 6-0.
Stonehill earned its second power play of the contest late in the period and generated eight shot attempts, including four on goal, but Princeton netminder Lia Nevo and the Tigers' penalty kill stood strong to deny the Skyhawks and send the game into the second intermission unchanged.
Princeton's lead proved insurmountable, as the Tigers added four more goals in the third period to claim game two of the weekend series by a final score of 10-0.
