WORCESTER, Mass. (January 30, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's hockey team fell to NEWHA rival Assumption University, 7–0, Friday night at the Worcester Ice Center. With the loss, the Skyhawks dropped to 12–13–2 overall and 12–7–2 in conference play, while the Greyhounds improved to 12–12–3 on the season and 12–6–3 against NEWHA opponents.
 
Highlights

• First-year Maddie Bibeau posted a career-high six shots on goal, helping fuel Stonehill's 40-shot effort in the contest.
• Senior Mia Kenmore tied for the game high with nine faceoff wins.
• Senior Bailey Feeney, junior Makenna Slocum, and sophomore Reagan Whynot each recorded two blocked shots.
• Sophomore netminder Alexsa Caron made 48 saves between the pipes, marking her fifth game this season with at least 45 saves.

 
How It Happened
After a back-and-forth opening eight minutes, Assumption struck first at the 9:02 mark of the first period when Jodie Gratton capitalized on a loose puck in the Skyhawks' crease following an initial shot from Alexa Hanrahan.
Carrying a power-play opportunity into the second period, the Greyhounds doubled their lead just 1:21 into the frame as Rachel Agerter found the back of the net with the extra skater. Assumption continued to build momentum throughout the remainder of the second, tacking on four more goals to take a commanding 6–0 advantage into the third period.

Despite outshooting the Greyhounds 24–17 in the final frame, Stonehill was unable to break through as Assumption closed out the contest with a 7–0 victory.
