CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. (January 9, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's hockey team dropped its Friday night exhibition to nationally ranked No. 13 Boston College at Conte Forum, 8-2.
Highlights
How It Happened
Boston College wasted no time jumping out to a commanding lead, scoring four unanswered goals to take a 4-0 advantage with just under three minutes remaining in the opening period. However, just 10 seconds after the Eagles' fourth goal, Melady sent a shot over the shoulder of the Boston College netminder and under the crossbar, cutting the Skyhawks' deficit to three heading into the first intermission.
The Eagles added three more goals in the second period to carry a 7-1 lead into the final frame.
At the 13:11 mark of the third period, Lehtinen lit the lamp on the power play off assists from Orr and Murphy. Despite the late tally, Boston College's lead proved too much to overcome as the Skyhawks fell by a final score of 8-2.
