Women’s Soccer Tops Le Moyne Behind Roslonek’s Second Career Goal

EASTON, Mass. (October 1, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team battled NEC opponent Le Moyne College to a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Skyhawk Field Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Skyhawks improved to 3-5-4 overall and 3-1 in NEC play, while the Dolphins fell to 2-10 overall and 1-2 in conference action.

Highlights
  • Senior Lily Roslonek scored the lone goal of the game, marking the second goal of her collegiate career and her first since scoring against Le Moyne on Oct. 3, 2024.
  • Junior Erin Foley recorded her second assist of the season, while senior Kayla Cassidy registered a game-high nine shots, with four finding the target.
  • Junior goalkeeper Allie Sougaris earned her third win and third shutout of the season, making one save on the five shots she faced.
  • Freshman Sadie O'Toole, sophomore Dani Lomuscio, junior Meghan Dowd, and seniors Lindsey Brown, Cassidy, and Roslonek each played all 90 minutes.

How it Happened
Stonehill jumped out to an early lead just 6:15 into the conference meeting. Foley corralled the ball just outside the 18-yard box and fed a pass over to Roslonek, who sent a right-footed shot off the crossbar and into the back of the net for her first goal of the season and second of her collegiate career. Roslonek's first collegiate goal also came against the Dolphins on Oct. 3, 2024, in a 3-0 shutout victory for the Skyhawks.

Following Roslonek's tally, the two sides traded corner kicks and battled back and forth throughout the remainder of the first half. At the 35:19 mark, Cassidy had a quality one-on-one scoring opportunity, but her attempt trickled just wide of the Le Moyne cage.

Coming out of the halftime break, Stonehill went right back on the attack, looking to add some breathing room. At the 56:57 mark, Dowd nearly doubled the Skyhawks' advantage when she rocketed a shot toward the top of the Le Moyne net, but goalkeeper Mikayla McPheron punched it over the crossbar to keep the score at 1-0.

In the 80th minute, Cassidy had another excellent opportunity to find the back of the net, which would have marked her fifth goal of the season, but McPheron turned the attempt aside. Stonehill maintained possession and controlled the action down the stretch before securing the 1-0 victory.
