Women's Soccer Shuts Out Wagner, 2-0, for Third Consecutive Victory

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (October 4, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team extended its winning streak to three games Sunday afternoon, earning a 3-0 victory over NEC opponent Wagner College. With the win, the Skyhawks improved to 4-5-4 overall and 4-1 in conference play, while the Seahawks fell to 4-6-2 overall and 3-1 against NEC opponents.

Highlights
How it Happened
Following a back-and-forth opening 40 minutes, with the Skyhawks and Seahawks combining for 16 shot attempts and six corner kicks, Stonehill would strike first in the 43rd minute. On an outswinging corner kick off the boot of Renz, Brown rose above the Wagner defense and headed the ball into the back of the net to give the Skyhawks a 1-0 lead heading into the break.

Stonehill doubled its advantage at the 72:06 mark when O'Toole sent a cross into the 18-yard box, where Foley was waiting. Foley chipped a shot over the Wagner goalkeeper and into the back of the net for her third goal of the season, extending the Skyhawks' lead to 2-0.

Despite a valiant effort from Wagner in the final minutes to find the back of the net, Sougaris and the Stonehill backline held firm to preserve the clean sheet and secure the Skyhawks' third consecutive victory and fourth win of the season.
