How it Happened
Following a back-and-forth start to the conference matchup that featured just three stoppages in the opening 12 minutes, Stonehill broke through with two goals in the final minute of the first period. Palsa chipped a pass off the wall to Vaccari, who found Slocum in front of the net. Slocum buried the feed with 30 seconds remaining in the frame for her first goal of the season.
Just 24 seconds later, following a Post turnover, Harb fired a shot that produced a rebound, which Morrison pounced on to double the Skyhawks' lead with her first of two goals on the night.
Stonehill carried its 2-0 advantage into the second period, where Morrison struck again on the power play. The freshman one-timed a cross-ice feed from Whynot into the back of the net to extend the lead. Just over a minute later, at the 4:10 mark, Post cut the deficit in half when Rylie Griffiths scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Jet Devlin.
The Skyhawks maintained their two-goal advantage throughout the final 20 minutes, outshooting the Eagles 14-6 in the third period to secure the 3-1 victory and extend their winning streak to three consecutive games.
