Highlights
How it Happened
Stonehill wasted little time opening the scoring, as the Skyhawks found the back of the net just 37 seconds into the contest on the power play. Sutherland fed a pass to Wise along the near-side boards, where Wise sent a cross-ice pass to Combe, who buried her second goal of the season.
Following Stonehill's early tally, the two sides traded scoring chances throughout the opening period, finishing the frame tied at 11 shots on goal apiece.
The Skyhawks continued to generate offensive opportunities in the middle frame, outshooting the Eagles, 15-0, and earning a 1:48 five-on-three power-play advantage. However, Stonehill was unable to extend its lead, carrying a 1-0 advantage into the third period.
Post came out firing following the second intermission, recording 12 shot attempts to Stonehill's one over the opening four minutes of the frame. The Eagles capitalized at the 4:03 mark, as Celena Mickevicius redirected a shot into the back of the net to even the score at 1-1.
Just over 10 minutes later, Post took its first lead of the weekend when Flora Pasztor found the back of the net at the 15:16 mark of the third period. The tally proved to be the game-winner, as the Eagles held on for the 2-1 victory.
