STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (Feb. 14, 2026) – The Stonehill women's basketball team went on the road and earned a 52-37 victory over Wagner at Spiro Sports Center Saturday afternoon.
The win improves Stonehill's overall record to 9-15 (5-8 NEC), while the Seahawks slip to 11-13 (7-6 NEC).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Stonehill outscored Wagner, 16-2, in the second quarter, as the Seahawks made only one basket (1-of-10, .100) in the frame.
- The 37 points allowed by the Skyhawks mark the fewest against a Division I opponent since winning 62-35 over Hartford on Nov. 21, 2022. Stonehill held Wagner to 12-51 shooting (.235) for the game.
- Ella Pelletier paced Stonehill with 14 points.
- Brooke Paquette scored 11 points, which now gives her 957 points in her career.
- On the glass, Paquette Phoena Dadson each grabbed seven rebounds, while Pelletier, Bella Mallory and Julia Webster all finished with six boards a piece.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The teams remained within a basket for most of the first quarter, as Wagner led, 9-7, with 2:09 remaining in the frame. The Seahawks went up 15-11 at the end of the opening period, but a three-pointer by
Ella Pelletier put Stonehill back in front, 16-15, at the 7:40 mark of the second. Late in the half,
Bella Mallory found
Phoena Dadson cutting to the basketball as Stonehill went up by five, 22-17.
At the break, the Skyhawks led by 10, 27-17, with Pelletier scoring a team-best seven points. Stonehill held Wagner to only two points and 1-of-10 shooting (.100) in the second quarter, outscoring the Seahawks by a 16-2 margin.
In the third, Stonehill maintained a double-digit lead throughout the frame, owning a 34-21 advantage on the scoreboard at the media timeout with 4:05 left to go. Down the stretch, Wagner cut the Stonehill lead to 40-31, but Pelletier and
Julia Webster connected for a layup by Webster to keep the Skyhawks in front by nine with just over three minutes left.

Stonehill (9-15, 5-8 NEC) will return home to face New Haven (7-16, 5-7 NEC) on NESN+ on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m.
