SHELTON, Conn. (February 14, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's hockey team fell to NEWHA rival Post University, 3-2, in Saturday afternoon's weekend finale. With the result, the Skyhawks move to 14-16-2 overall and 14-10-2 in conference play, while the Eagles improve to 10-21-1 on the season and 10-15-1 against NEWHA opponents.

How It Happened
Stonehill came out of the gates flying in the series finale, striking just 21 seconds into the contest with the game's opening goal. In transition, Achtyl feathered a saucer pass to Wise, who buried her fifth of the season to give the Skyhawks a 1-0 advantage. First-year
Maddie Bibeau nearly doubled the lead at the 5:29 mark, ringing a shot off the pipe.
After controlling much of the early play, the momentum shifted late in the opening frame as Post generated sustained pressure, recording 17 shot attempts — including 12 on goal — over the final 10 minutes of the period.
The second period featured a combined 14 minutes of penalties between the two sides, resulting in a pair of shorthanded tallies by the Eagles and a power-play goal off the stick of Sacca. The special teams battle sent the game into the third period deadlocked at 2-2.
Post seized its first lead of the afternoon 3:50 into the third, as Emma Hoen corralled a loose puck along the blue line and fired a shot through traffic past Stone for her eighth goal of the season.
Sacca nearly answered at the 8:32 mark, blasting a shot off the crossbar, but the Skyhawks couldn't find the equalizer. Despite earning two late power-play opportunities and registering 11 shot attempts over the final 10 minutes of regulation, Stonehill fell just short in a 3-2 setback.
