EASTON, Mass. (Feb. 26, 2026) – Junior guard
Davante Hackett became the first player in seven years to drop 40 points on an opponent as the Stonehill men's basketball team cruised to a dominating 103-77 victory over Saint Francis on Thursday evening.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Davante Hackett's 40 points and 8 three-pointers tied Will Moreton's 40-point and 8-three-point night in the Skyhawks 92-59 win over Franklin Pierce on February 16, 2019.
- It was the first time since the program become members of Division I a player registered 40-plus points in a game.
- Hackett's eight three-pointers came one shy of tying Shaun Fein for the program record. Fein drained nine threes against Bentley on January 17, 1998.
- Hackett also was one of 29 players across Division I to record 40 points in a game.
- Senior guard Chas Stinson notched his second double-double of the season and second in three games with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
- Senior center Ridvan Tutic rounded out the Skyhawks in double figures with 10 points.
- Stonehill shot 61.3% from the field in the second half as they finished the game shooting 57.6%.
- The Skyhawks' 54 points in the first half was the most score in the half and second time they scored 50 in a half this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Davante Hackett scored 13 of the Skyhawks first 23 points as they opened the game with 23-9 lead. The gap continued to widen as senior center
Ridvan Tutic push lead to 20, muscling his way to the layup under the hoop.
There was no quieting the Stonehill offense that shot 54% from the floor in the first half, led by a red-hot hot shooter in Hackett, who was quickly eyeing at surpassing his 30 points from the other day. The Ontario native dropped 26 points in the first half, including six from beyond the arc – a new career single-game high for him as the Skyhawks took a 54-33 lead into the locker room.
Returning to court in the second half, the Skyhawk offense continued to kindle, shooting 61%. The Red Flash had no answer for Hackett as he put up another 14 points, shooting 50% in the second, including a pair from beyond the arc. Senior guard
