ERIE, Pa. (Feb. 28, 2026) – The Stonehill women's basketball team fell in its final road game of the regular season by a score of 68-55 to Mercyhurst at the Mercyhurst Athletic Center Saturday afternoon.
The loss moves the Skyhawks to 11-17 overall (7-10 NEC), while the Lakers go to 13-15 (13-4 NEC).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Ella Pelletier posted her third double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and coming down with 10 rebounds. Pelletier also handed out five assists.
- Julia Webster paced Stonehill in scoring with 16 points, shooting 8-of-13 from the field, and adding five rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Stonehill led early on, 6-5, at the first media timeout at the 4:37 mark, and it remained a one possession game through the end of the opening quarter, with Mercyhurst on top, 9-8, after 10 minutes.
In the second quarter, the Lakers extended their lead with use of the three-pointer, going up 35-24 by the half.
Ella Pelletier paced the Skyhawks with 10 points, shooting 3-of-4 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line, in the first 20 minutes.
After trailing, 54-40, heading into the fourth, the Skyhawks opened the final frame with a 7-0 run to cut the deficit to 54-47 with 7:55 remaining. After Stonehill got to within five, 56-51, Mercyhurst closed with a 12-5 run to hold on for the victory.

Stonehill (11-17, 7-10 NEC) will host Chicago State (8-21, 7-9 NEC) on Senior Day to close the regular season on Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m.
