EASTON, Mass. (Feb. 7, 2026) – The Stonehill women's basketball team fell at home to LIU by a score of 69-57 at Merkert Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
The loss drops the Skyhawks to 8-15 (4-8 NEC), while the Sharks now stand 15-8 (10-2 NEC).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Julia Webster led Stonehill with 19 points and nine rebounds, while also making career-high three steals.
- Ella Pelletier netted 15 points and added six rebounds and tied her career-best with four assists.
- Brooke Paquette tallied 10 points, giving her 946 points in her career, and came down with six rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Early on, the Sharks led a 8-4 lead at the first media timeout at 5:09, and LIU stayed in front through the first 10 minutes, 17-13.
Ella Pelletier tallied seven points in the opening frame for the Skyhawks. In the second, Stonehill trailed, 26-17, midway through the quarter, when
Julia Webster answered with a offensive board and floater for the bucket. Webster finished the opening half with 11 points, five rebounds and a career-high three steals, but LIU led, 37-24.
LIU extended its advantage on the scoreboard to 46-29 with 6:58 remaining in the third, and the Sharks carried a 54-38 lead into the fourth.
The Skyhawks outscored the Sharks by a 19-15 margin in the final frame, but LIU held on for the win.

Stonehill (8-15, 4-8 NEC) will head on the road to face Wagner (10-12, 6-5 NEC) on Saturday, Feb. 14. Opening tip is scheduled for 2 p.m.
