CHESTERTOWN, Md. (February 8, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team posted a clean 4-0 sweep over non-conference opponent Coppin State University on Sunday afternoon. With the victory, the Skyhawks improved to 3-2 overall, while the Eagles fell to 0-1 on the season.
Stonehill secured the doubles point with back-to-back wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Junior
Jacob Borch-Nielsen and sophomore
Hector Cebrian continued their strong run as a pairing, earning their seventh win of the campaign with a 6-2 victory over Aidan Thomas-Cogar and Ulugbek Abdurakhmonov at No. 1 doubles.
At No. 2 doubles, freshman
Benjamin Beaudry and sophomore
Nicolas Arredondo clinched the point for the Skyhawks with a dominant 6-0 sweep of Andre Dogbefu and Flavius Henderson II, marking the duo's first win of the season together.
The Skyhawks sealed the overall match victory by capturing the first three singles contests. Sophomore
Guillermo Bennaton set the tone with a decisive 6-1, 6-1 win over Rishi Jalota at No. 1 singles. Cebrian followed with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph against Dogbefu at No. 2 singles, before Borch-Nielsen completed his individual double on the day with a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Liam Murtaugh at No. 3.
