Chabria Records Double Win in Women’s Tennis Loss to Sacred Heart

LAKEVILLE, Mass. (February 7, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's tennis team fell, 5–2, to Sacred Heart University Saturday night at the Lakeville Athletic Club. With the result, the Skyhawks dropped to 0–5 on the season, while the Pioneers improved to 2–3.

Sophomore Arya Chabria led the way for Stonehill, posting a pair of victories on the day. Chabria teamed up with classmate Lilah Shallcross to earn a win at No. 2 doubles for the second time this season before securing a straight-sets victory at No. 5 singles.

Chabria and Shallcross defeated Malena del Olmo and Kiah James, 6–2, on the No. 2 doubles court. However, Sacred Heart claimed wins on the remaining two doubles courts, as Pioneer pairings bested junior Julie Holte and senior Anneliese Beltran, along with junior Madison Warren and first-year Iliana deArmas, to clinch the doubles point.

In singles play, Sacred Heart swept the first four matchups to seal the team victory. Stonehill earned its two points late, beginning with Chabria's 7–5, 6–4 win over Kailin Gochna at No. 5 singles. DeArmas followed with a hard-fought three-set triumph at the No. 6 spot, outlasting James, 6–7 (4), 6–4, 10–8, to close out the non-conference contest.
