BOSTON, Mass. (February 28, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's hockey team closed its regular season with a 5-2 exhibition win over Simon Fraser University at Warrior Ice Arena. After the game, the Skyhawks honored seven seniors and their families in a senior day ceremony:
Ryan Davies, Frankie Ireland, David Posma, Evan Orr, Connor Androlewicz, and
Teddy Lagerbäck.

How It Happened
Simon Fraser struck first for the second straight night, as Max Potvin beat Lipskis just 1:44 into the game. Stonehill responded quickly at 6:03 when Murphy scored off assists from Galante and Davies. Mexico and Posma added two more goals in the opening frame, with Posma scoring shorthanded, giving the Skyhawks a 3-1 lead after one period.
Early in the second, at the 1:12 mark, Melady would score off an assist from Renfrew, before the sophomore center later extended the lead to 5-1 at 15:30 with a goal reminiscent of his scoring the previous night.
In the third, Simon Fraser cut the deficit to 5-2 with a shorthanded goal from Lucas Ceccarelli at 12:14. Despite the tally to bring the Red Leafs back within three, Stonehill would maintain control over the remainder of the game, securing the 5-2 victory.

Stonehill (10-21-2) will return to action next weekend, competing in the inaugural United Collegiate Hockey Cup, hosted by Lindenwood University at the Centene Community Ice Center.
