EASTON, Mass. (March 25, 2026) – The Stonehill women's lacrosse team collected its second-straight conference victory, as the Skyhawks downed Central Connecticut State by a score of 20-7 at W.B. Mason Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
Stonehill, which has scored 20 goals in two-consecutive games, improves to 5-6 overall (2-1 NEC), while CCSU falls to 0-9 (0-3 NEC).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Stonehill scored at least 20 goals in two-straight contests for the first time since 2024 (22-10 win over Howard March 2 and 26-19 win over Winthrop March 6).
- Meaghan Fealy paced the Skyhawks with six points on four goals and two assists.
- Neave Bowman added two goals and three assists for five points, while Taylor Green recorded a hat trick and three ground balls.
- Twelve different Stonehill players tallied a goal.
- Nina Tremonte made seven saves.
- Sophia Gouveia had five draw controls and three ground balls.
- Stonehill owned the advantage in shots, 31-22, shots on goal, 20-9, ground balls, 16-12, and draw controls, 17-11.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Stonehill jumped out to a 2-0 lead with early scores by
Sophia Gouveia (13:48) and
Taylor Green (12:54). After CCSU cut the deficit in half, 2-1, the Skyhawks tallied four-straight tallies by
Meaghan Fealy (7:09),
Gabriella Parisi (6:34), Fealy (5:44) and Green (5:23) to go up, 6-1, in the first quarter.
In the second,
Neave Bowman found the back of the net at 13:55 to make it 7-2, and then later in the frame, Stonehill rattled off seven-straight goals to earn a 14-3 advantage on the scoreboard. In the 7-0 run,
Grace Murphy (12:48), Fealy (12:05),
Maia Parker (11:22), Murphy (11:05), Fealy (9:08) and
Emily LaPia (7:20 and 4:59) put the game out of reach.
Caitlin Ruggiero scored the first goal of the second half at 13:51, 15-4, before Green (9:39),
Val Beigel (8:05) and Bowman (2:27) netted goals to make it a 18-5 contest.
Abby Hanifin (3:08) and
Cameron Flaherty (1:05) capped the scoring in the fourth quarter.
