EASTON, Mass. (March 4, 2026) – The Stonehill women's lacrosse team collected its third-straight victory at home, as the Skyhawks downed New Hampshire by a score of 14-8 at W.B. Mason Stadium Wednesday afternoon.
The victory moves Stonehill to 3-3 overall (0-0 NEC), while the Wildcats slip to 2-4 (0-0 America East).
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS:
- Grace Murphy amassed seven points on five goals and two assists.
- Natalie Coutu tallied four goals.
- In net, Nina Tremonte turned away 11 shots.
- Maia Parker tied her career-high with five draw controls, while Lauren Molinaro collected four ground balls.
- Stonehill owned the advantage in draw controls by a 17-7 margin for the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Stonehill got out to a 2-0 lead with early scored by
Grace Murphy and
Maia Parker. After UNH tied it, 2-2, at the 7:47 mark, Murphy netted two more goals, and
Natalie Coutu scored a goal in between those two Murphy tallies to five the Skyhawks a 5-2 edge on the scoreboard through 15 minutes of action.
In the second quarter, Coutu gave Stonehill a three-goal lead at 8:42, but the Wildcats struck back to cut their deficit to 6-5 with 3:19 remaining in the half.
The game remained 6-5 in favor of the Skyhawks until Murphy scored again at the 14:10 mark of the third. Coutu made it 8-5 Stonehill with 10:26 remaining in the third, and then the Skyhawks began to pull away with consecutive goals by
Taylor Green, Murphy and Coutu later in the frame to five the Skyhawks a five-goal edge, 11-6, heading into the fourth.
In the final frame,
Sophia Gouveia,
Maia Parker and
Caitlin Ruggiero tacked on more goals for Stonehill to help preserve the victory.
