Men’s Tennis Falls 5-2 to UNC Asheville After Doubles Sweep

CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 7, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team fell to the UNC Asheville, 5–2, in a non-conference neutral-site match Saturday afternoon at the College of Charleston. With the loss, the Skyhawks dropped to 3–6 overall, while the Bulldogs improved to 5–4 on the season.

UNC Asheville took early control by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. At No. 2 doubles, Cian Ingles and Jip Mens defeated Nicolas Arredondo and Benjamin Beaudry. The Bulldogs clinched the point when Griffin Lovern and Harrison Cooper topped Jacob Borch-Nielsen and Hector Cebrian, 6–3, at the No. 1 position.

At No. 3 doubles, Daniel Franco-Key and Leo Kolbe edged Guillermo Bennaton and Javier Gutierrez, 6–4, to complete the doubles sweep.

UNC Asheville secured the team victory by winning four of the six singles matches. Stonehill earned its two points at the bottom of the singles lineup. At No. 5 singles, Alessandro Munoz defeated Martin Fuks, 6–1, 6–2. At No. 6, Arredondo posted a 6–1, 7–5 victory over Griffin Lovern. The wins marked Munoz's seventh and Arredondo's eighth singles victories of the season.
