CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 8, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team was swept 7-0 by non-conference opponent College of Charleston Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Skyhawks fell to 3-7 on the season, while the Cougars improved to 7-3.
Charleston secured the doubles point after sweeping all three matches. At No. 1 doubles, junior
Jacob Borch-Nielsen and sophomore
Hector Cebrian dropped a 6-1 decision, before sophomore
Nicolas Arredondo and freshman
Benjamin Beaudry also fell 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Sophomores
Guillermo Bennaton and
Javier Gutierrez put up a strong fight at No. 3 doubles but ultimately fell 6-4 to Charleston's Leon Harder and Juan Die Rojas Mora.
The Cougars completed the sweep by winning all six singles matches. Despite the result, Stonehill had competitive showings in several spots. Bennaton battled Jakub Solarski at No. 1 singles, while Beaudry pushed Jake Smith to a second-set tiebreak at No. 4 singles. Arredondo also kept things close at No. 6 singles, dropping the first set 6-4 to Rojas Mora.
