EASTON, Mass. (September 15, 2026) – The Stonehill College men's tennis team opened its home slate Tuesday afternoon at the Charles Watt Tennis Courts, hosting former Northeast-10 Conference opponent Franklin Pierce. The Skyhawks swept their way to a 7-0 victory over the Ravens, opening the season with a 1-0 record.
Junior
Guillermo Bennaton and senior
Jacob Borch-Nielsen teamed up at No. 1 doubles, earning a 6-4 victory over Martin Dominguez Cerdeira and Sebastian Garcia. Junior
Nicolas Arredondo and freshman
Rafael Brown followed with a 6-2 triumph over Jose Siles and Jaime Godoy Gomis at No. 2 doubles, marking the first collegiate victory for Brown.
Freshman
Joao Machado and senior
Alexis Chastang completed the doubles sweep at No. 3, earning a hard-fought 7-5 victory over Samuel Borrego and Daniel Garcia Estrabot.
Bennaton opened singles play with a 7-6, 6-1 victory over Garcia Estrabot at No. 1 singles, completing a two-win day. Arredondo also secured his second win of the afternoon at No. 5 singles, defeating Borrego, 6-1, 6-2.
Sophomore
Benjamin Beaudry picked up his first win of the season at No. 2 singles, defeating Dominguez Cerdeira, 6-2, 6-2, while senior
Alessandro Munoz and junior
Hector Cebrian earned victories at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, respectively.
Munoz defeated Garcia, 7-6, 6-3, while Cebrian cruised past Siles, 6-1, 6-0. Freshman
Hayden Grech wrapped up the Skyhawks' sweep at No. 6 singles, earning his first collegiate victory with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Godoy Gomis.
