WEST HAVEN, Conn. (September 24, 2026) – The Stonehill College women's soccer team carried a two-goal advantage into halftime and added another goal in the second half to secure a 3-0 victory over NEC opponent New Haven on Thursday night. With the win, the Skyhawks improved to 2-5-4 overall and 2-1 in NEC play, while the Chargers dropped to 1-8-1 overall and 0-2 in league action.

How it Happened
Following a back-and-forth start to the conference contest that saw New Haven register the game's first corner kick five minutes in, Stonehill broke open the scoring in the 14th minute when Lomuscio collected a cross into the box off the boot of Cassidy and found the back of the net for her third goal in as many games.
Just 5:40 later, at the 19:40 mark, the Skyhawks doubled their advantage when Renz found Foley in front, who redirected the cross into the back of the net for her second goal of the season.
At 23:04, the Chargers had an excellent opportunity to cut into their deficit, but Emma Mitchell sent her penalty kick wide. Renz nearly made it a three-goal game at 30:21, rocketing a shot off the right post, as the Skyhawks carried a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Coming out of the break, the two sides returned to back-and-forth play, with Stonehill holding a 6-3 advantage in shots and a 3-0 edge in corner kicks throughout the final 45 minutes.
In the final moments of the game, at the 88:06 mark, Lomuscio found Cullingford on the near side of the pitch. Cullingford raced up the field before firing a shot into the top-left corner of the New Haven net for her first collegiate goal, capping the scoring and securing the 3-0 shutout victory for the Skyhawks.
