VESTAL, N.Y. (September 28, 2026) – Stonehill College men's tennis turned in a strong showing at the NateRentals.com Binghamton Championships, highlighted by several standout performances across both singles and doubles competition.
In singles action, the Skyhawks collected nine victories throughout the competition.
Javier Gutierrez opened with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over FDU's Arya Prabhu, while
Jacob Borch-Nielsen earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Chicago State's Justin Atkins.
Hayden Grech also picked up a straight-set victory, defeating Binghamton's Dylan Breen, 6-2, 6-3.
Nicolas Arredondo battled to a three-set victory over Mercyhurst's Mykhailo Polishchuk, 6-7, 6-4, 10-4, while
Benjamin Beaudry earned a pair of victories during the competition. Beaudry opened with a 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 win over LIU's Leonidas Lazarides before coming through with another three-set victory over Binghamton's Andre Ajed, 5-7, 6-2, 13-11.
Guillermo Bennaton picked up a singles victory after defeating Le Moyne's Callum Matthew, 6-4, 7-5, before later battling through a three-set match against Tauras Mickus of FDU.
Hector Cebrian added a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Wagner's Vibhu Challagundla, while
Alessandro Munoz posted two wins, defeating FDU's Ko Nagashima, 6-7, 7-5, 12-10, and Binghamton's Radu Filipache, 6-2, 6-0.
The Skyhawks also produced several strong performances in doubles, combining for eight victories. Arredondo and
Joao Machado went a perfect 3-0 in doubles to secure the Flight B title. The duo opened with a 6-2 victory over FDU's Matias Neira and Arya Prabhu before defeating LIU's Leonidas Lazarides and Jonathan Kurian, 6-3. Arredondo and Machado closed their run with another 6-3 victory over FDU's Vincenzo Marchese and Nate Roberman.
Borch-Nielsen and
Rafael Brown also posted a 2-1 mark in doubles, picking up consecutive victories over Chicago State's Yurii Hoida and Joao Teixeira, 6-4, and FDU's Ko Nagashima and Benjamin Wrann, 6-4. Bennaton and Gutierrez likewise recorded a pair of victories, defeating Binghamton's Andre Ajed and Radu Filipache, 6-3, before earning another 6-3 win over Mercyhurst's Petar Belosevic and Mykhailo Polishchuk.
