Chabria, Shallcross Punch Ticket to NCAA ITA Masters With NEC Doubles Title

VESTAL, N.Y. (September 28, 2026) – Stonehill College women's tennis turned in a strong showing at the NateRentals.com Binghamton Championships, highlighted by a championship performance from the doubles tandem of Arya Chabria and Lilah Shallcross, who captured the Flight A Doubles title after going a perfect 4-0 throughout the competition.

Chabria and Shallcross opened doubles play with a 6-3 victory over Ann Kato and Evelina Zhuk of FDU before continuing their run with a 6-4 win against Polina Agapitova and Maia Warlies Paredes of Chicago State. The Skyhawks then earned a 7-5 victory over Mercyhurst's Kateryna Kryuchkova and Daria Rogova before closing out the championship with a three-set triumph over New Haven's Ines Homberg Fernandez and Victoria Togores, 2-6, 7-6, 10-7. With the title, Chabria and Shallcross will represent the NEC at the NCAA ITA Masters, scheduled for Nov. 5-8 in Rome, Georgia.

In singles action, Stonehill collected multiple victories throughout the tournament. Shallcross opened with a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Chicago State's Greta Zawels. Chabria also posted a singles victory, defeating FDU's Ann Kato, 6-4, 6-2, while Iliana deArmas earned a 6-2, retired victory over Wagner's Dariana Vera.

Carlota Souto also picked up a pair of competitive performances in singles, opening the competition with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 victory over Binghamton's Nitya Vyas before falling to Wagner's Claudia Lindsey, 6-2, 6-4. Elsa Seippel earned a 6-2, 7-5 victory over New Haven's Petra Horvath after opening her tournament with a three-set setback against Wagner's Alexia Estrada, 2-6, 6-0, 10-4.

In addition to Shallcross and Chabria's championship run, Souto and Piper Remillard secured a 6-1 victory over Wagner's Dariana Vera and Claudia Lindsey, while also pushing both of their other opponents to seven games before falling to Binghamton and FDU pairings. Seippel and Luciana Caputi Intriago also competed in two doubles matches, facing New Haven and Mercyhurst tandems.
