Ben Davis is inhis fourth season as assistant coach for the Stonehill men'sbasketball program. Davis is in his second year as the Skyhawks topassistant coach and serves as recruiting coordinator and also helpsdevelop pre and postseason strength and conditioning programs forthe team.
Over Davis' first three seasonswith the program, the Skyhawks have earned three consecutive NCAAtournament bids, exceeding 20 wins in each of those campaigns witha 66-21 overall record in that time. The Skyhawks captured the2009-10 Northeast-10 regular season championship and earned the topseed for the East Regional Championship, serving as tournamenthost.
"As a program, we are incrediblyfortunate to have someone with Ben's work ethic, loyalty, andrecruiting experience. I am excited that he is back for his thirdyear," says head coach David McLaughlin. "He hasgrown as a coach each year, and is ready for his new role ofcoordinating many of our staff's efforts. His evaluating andrecruiting skills are invaluable and play a key role in our programattracting top student-athletes. His work ethic allows for him tohave a very bright future."
Prior to Stonehill, Davis was thehead assistant and recruiting coordinator at NCAA Division IIINichols College, located in his native Dudley, Mass., for oneseason.
Davis is a 2006 graduate of Wheaton(Mass.) College, earning Bachelor's Degrees in history andpolitical science. He was a four-year letterwinner for the Lyonsmen's basketball team, serving as captain his senior year. Davisearned NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honors his senior season,helping the program win a school-record 76 games over his career aswell as back-to-back ECAC Championships as a junior and senior.
