Ricker swings 4-for-7 in the doubleheader, scoring three runs
EASTON, Massachusetts (April 7, 2021) – The Stonehill College softball team (2-8, 1-5 NE10) dropped two games to Bentley University (4-6, 4-6 NE10) Wednesday afternoon at Fr. Gartland Field with scores of 7-6 in nine innings and 10-2 in five innings.

Bentley scored the first run of the game on a Kaylee Mankins' single to right field with runners on second and third and one out, 1-0, in the top of the first. The Skyhawks got out of the inning with a double play, leaving one runner on base. Stonehill threatened in the bottom of the frame with the bases loaded, but Bentley retired the inning with a fielder's choice.

The Skyhawks took their only lead of the game after scoring six runs between the third and fourth innings. On a wild pitch, Theilgard and Ricker took advantage and scored, 2-1. In the bottom of the fourth with one out, Stonehill's Maille Bennett flew out to center field scoring Gianna Azzato from third, 3-1. The Skyhawks strung together four-straight hits, putting up three more runs for a five-run advantage, 6-1.
In the top of the fifth, Bentley connected on three hits and three errors for five runs to tie the game, 6-6. Included in the frame was a solo blast from Noelani Rivera with one out. Stonehill saw two innings with runners on base, but Bentley kept the Skyhawks from scoring to send it into extra innings. Bentley took home the win after a hard hit single from Mankins scored Lindsey Allen from third, 7-6.

Bentley put runs on the board in three of the five innings played. With two outs in the top of the second Sabrina Grizzaffi's two-run double put the Falcons up 2-0. In the next inning, Thompson cranked the ball over the left field fence for a three-run blast extending Bentley's lead to five, 5-0.
In the bottom of the fourth with two outs, Stonehill saw its first hit of the game from Hartman, who later stole second, drawing the throw and scoring Ricker from third, 5-1. Azzato then connected for her first double of the season, driving home Hartman from second, cutting the deficit to three, 5-2.
The Falcons padded their lead with five runs in the fifth to settle the 10-2 final.
