ROXBURY, Mass. (February 5, 2022)-The Stonehill College men's track and field team wrapped up their weekend at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Indoor Track & Field Championships as the squad finished in 15th place while also having two Skyhawks earn All-New England status. Ian Cann and Nickolas McNamee both earned the honor after competing in the one-mile race. To earn All-New England status, student-athletes needed to record a top-eight finish in their respective events. 

Highlights:

• In the one mile, Stonehill saw Cann and McNamee finish right behind each other at seventh and eighth place respectively. Cann not only earned All-New England status with his sixth-place finish, but he also set a new personal record crossing the line at 4:23.54. Cann ended up topping his previous mark set back (4:27.90) in January at the URI Coaches Memorial Invite. In each racing event, Cann has competed in, he has finished within the top-10 in five out of his six events he has run in. 
• Meanwhile for McNamee, he posted a time of 4:23.97 in his first solo race of the indoor season. 
• Jace Hollenbach and Reilly Johnston both raced in the 3k race and finished one after the other in 12th and 13 places respectively. Hollenbach set a new career-best in the event when he posted a time of 8:52.46. He topped his previous high (9:10.43) that was set at the URI Coaches Memorial Invite from January. 
• Johnston also recorded a personal best when he finished close behind Hollenbach with a time of 8:52.60. Johnston surpassed his previous time (9:06.32) in the 3k that was set back in April 2021. 

Other Performances:

• Jacob Pacheco finished within the top-10 in the high jump event reaching a height of 1.85 meters. Each time he has competed in the high jump event, Pacheco has always finished within the top-10.
• In the 60-meter dash prelims, Stonehill saw five different student-athletes compete. Solomon King paced the Skyhawks with an 18th place finish at 7.18 and Shea Drugan came in at 24th with a time of 7.31. 
• The Skyhawks had three others (Zachary Ofurum, Nate Skopas, and John Paulhamus) round out the race with 25th, 26th, and 27th places respectively. However, each of those three runners set new personal bests for the 60 meters. Ofurum had a time of 7.33, Skopas crossed the finish line at 7.36, and finally, Paulhamus posted a time of 7.38.
