HANOVER, Mass. (October 13, 2024) – The Stonehill College equestrian team opened its 2024 Fall campaign on Saturday at the Boston University/Tufts Show, hosted at Holly Hill Farm in Hanover, Massachusetts. The Skyhawks finished the day with one regional qualifier, three first place finishes, and an overall finish of third place as a team.
Highlights
- Junior Rosalie Martin had a strong day, finishing atop the podium and qualifying for regional competition in the Novice division.
- The first-year trio of Elizabeth Carreiro, Shay Callanan, and Shannon Murray each made their collegiate debuts.
- Carreiro finished first in intermediate flat and third in intermediate fences, while Callanan took home a first-place ribbon in the limit flat event.
- Murray rounded out the first-year debuts for the Skyhawks, earning runner-up honors in the limit fences event.
- Senior Emma Worster made her open debut in the flat event and finished fourth overall, while senior Madeline Ahern also took home a fourth-place finish in open flats.
- In addition, Ahern capped off her day with a fifth-place finish over fences in the open division.
- Rounding out Stonehill's riders were sophomore Lauren Eager and sophomore Mariah Russo.
- Eager earned top-five finishes in limit flat and fences, while Russo was the runner-up in the introductory division.
