STORRS, Conn. (March 29, 2025) – Senior
Madeline Ahern was crowned the Cacchione Cup Winner for finishing highest overall in the open division events throughout the season as the Stonehill College equestrian team competed at the IHSA Zone 1, Region 4 Championship in Storrs, Connecticut, Saturday afternoon.
Highlights
- Ahern was recognized as the Cacchione Cup High Point Rider for Region 4 for the second consecutive season, qualifying for zones.
- Ahern also received the 2025 captain's award and qualified for zones in the open flat and fences events after finishing as the runner-up in both.
- Senior Grace Faddoul and junior Rosalie Martin also qualified for zones in the intermediate flat event and novice division, respectively.
- Sophomore Lauren Eager rounded the Skyhawks' top three finishers in limit flats while competing over fences in the limit division.
- Senior Emma Worster capped off the Stonehill riders in Storrs, finishing fourth overall in open flats.
