STOUGHTON, Mass. (October 26, 2024) – On Saturday afternoon, the Stonehill College equestrian team finished as the reserve team champion at its annual home show at the Grand Champion Show Stables in Stoughton, Massachusetts. The Skyhawks also saw sophomore
Lauren Eager qualify for regionals and finish the competition as the reserve high point rider.
Highlights
- Eager took home two top finishes on the day in the limit division flat and fences events. Eager's performance over fences qualified her for the IHSA Regional competition.
- The senior trio of Grace Faddoul, Madeline Ahern, and Emma Worster also took home first-place ribbons for the Skyhawks in their respective events.
- Worster finished atop the podium in the open flat and fence events, while Ahern also took home a blue ribbon in the open division of over fences.
- Faddoul qualified for regionals after finishing first overall in the intermediate flat.
- In the novice division flat event, the Skyhawk's first-place finishers on the day were first-year student Cadence Scheer.
- First-year student Shay Callanan finished as the runner-up in limit flat, while Ahern capped off her day with a third-place finish in the flat event of the open division.
- First-year classmates Elizabeth Carreiro and Shannon Murray also placed in the top five in their respective events.
- Sophomore Mariah Russo rounded out the Stonehill riders on the day in Stoughton with a second-place finish in the introductory flat event.
