Football vs. Wagner Selected as Part of NEC Broadcast Package

Skyhawks NEC opener at W.B. Mason Stadium on October 5 to air on ESPN+ as well as regional coverage on NESN 360, YES Network and SportsNet Pittsburgh

EASTON, Mass. (August 8, 2024) – Stonehill College will once again host a national broadcast audience as its Northeast Conference football opener against Wagner College at W.B. Mason Stadium on Saturday, October 5, has been selected as part of the NEC's 2024 Television Package the Conference office announced today.

Stonehill's NEC opener against Wagner on October 5 at 1 p.m., will air on ESPN+, marking the third-straight year the Skyhawks have been featured on the network through the Conference's football broadcasting package, with regional coverage also available through NESN 360, YES Network and SportsNet Pittsburgh, along with NEC Front Row. Craig D'Amico, host of the NEC on the Run football podcast will have play-by-play of the game, alongside color analyst Kevin Gilbride, a two-time Super Bowl champion coach with the New York Giants.

The game is the second in a four-game NEC broadcasting package this fall that includes four games on ESPN+, marking the 12th-straight year the Conference has broadcast football on ESPN. The Stonehill/Wagner matchup will be delivered through ESPN streaming services on the web and via the ESPN App across smartphones, tablets and connected devices.

SportsNet Pittsburgh is a digital subscription service that gives fans in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, eastern Ohio, and parts of New York and Maryland (the SportsNet Pittsburgh territory) access to Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Penguins, and 24/7 access to live SNP and SNP+ feeds.

Stonehill and Wagner will be meeting for the fifth time on October 5, with the Skyhawks holding a 3-1 advantage in a series that dates to the 2008 season. Wagner notched a 28-17 victory over Stonehill in their second NEC matchup last October on Staten Island, with the Skyhawks holding a 2-0 lead all-time against the Seahawks at W.B. Mason Stadium.

Stonehill, picked fifth in the NEC preseason poll and under the direction of head coach Eli Gardner, in his ninth year as head coach and 16th year at the College overall, opens its 2024 season on Saturday, September 7, when it visits Stony Brook University at 3:30 p.m. The Skyhawks home opener is scheduled for Saturday, September 21, when it hosts Sacred Heart University for a non-conference matchup as part of Family Weekend at W.B. Mason Stadium at 1 p.m.

Season tickets for the 2024 Stonehill football season are on sale now at stonehillskyhawks.com/tickets for $50.00 for general admission adults and $35.00 for students and senior citizens. Single game tickets are also available for purchase now as well for $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for students and senior citizens.
