GENEVA, Ohio. (February 22, 2025) – The Stonehill College women's swimming team closed out its season and the 2025 Northeast Conference Swim and Dive Championships at the Spire Academy Aquatics Center on Saturday.
The Skyhawks placed sixth in the final standings with 191.5 points, while Central Connecticut State University took home a first-place finish and the NEC Championship trophy with 726.5 points. Howard University came in second with 683.5 points, and Saint Francis University rounded out the top three with 579.5 points.
In the first event of the day, sophomore
Isabella Rodriguez placed 10th overall in the 1,650-yard freestyle, breaking a program record with a time of 18:01.67. Junior
Azia Koser clocked in at 18:38.27, the second-fastest 1650 free time of her career.
Freshman
Maddie Gomez competed in the B-Final of the 200-yard backstroke, placing ninth overall with a time of 2:06.48, marking a new season and personal best time for the first-year swimmer. This was also the second-fastest time in program history. Classmate
Elizabeth Weston also swam in the B-Final of the 200 back, recording her fastest finish at 2:10.66.
Freshman
Grace Idowu competed in the 100-yard freestyle B-Final, recording a season-best time of 52.92, marking a new program record in the event as she placed 16th.
Senior
Jami Hepburn was the lone Skyhawk to make it to the championship final in an event on Saturday, placing eighth overall in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:27.76. Freshman
Lilith Peterson recorded a time of 2:27.07 in the B-Final in the same event, her second-best time of the season.
Freshman
Morgan Kukral set a new top mark for herself in the 200-yard butterfly C-Final, finishing in 2:17.63.

Saturday marked the final day of the Stonehill women's swimming team's 2024-25 season and the Skyhawks will be back in the pool next fall.
