CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Stonehill College softball team dropped two games to Ohio University and, host, Austin Peay to open the Austin Peay Governors Classic on Friday afternoon.
The Skyhawks dropped their first game of the day, a 12-2 decision to Ohio University. The Bobcats jumped on the scoreboard early, scoring three runs in the first two innings. However, sophomore Melanie Synder broke up the shutout with an RBI single, driving in
Taylor Schoonmaker in the fourth inning.
An inning later, freshman
Juli Murillo roped a double down the right field line to plate fellow freshman Madelena Creo. But it was not enough as Ohio was able to quell the Skyhawk threat.
In their second game of the day against the host Governors, Murillo went 1-for2 from the top of line up while
Jade Sanders went 1-for-2 from the bottom of the order.
