Box Score 2 STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (March 14, 2026) – The Stonehill softball team opened NEC play splitting Saturday afternoon's double-header against Wagner. The Skyhawks took game one 15-4 before dropping game two, 13-4.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Freshman Juli Murillo went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and three runs scored in game one.
- Murillo went 4-for-6 on the day with two doubles and five RBI.
- Junior Harper Sullivan helped her own cause going 3-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI from the middle of the order as she earned her first win of the season.
- Senior Jessica Brill went 2-for-3 in game two with a run scored.
GAME 1: STONEHILL 15, WAGNER 4
The Skyhawk bats came out firing to open the game. Junior right-hander
Harper Sullivan helped her own cause, ripping a one out RBI double down the right field line to plate
Juli Murillo. Two batters later the Skyhawks kept the pressure on with Melani Snyder reaching on a fielder's choice to bring home sophomore
Sarah Taylor with the second run.
Offense is contagious as Mackenzie Caron brought home Sullivan with a two-out double, followed by a bases clearing double off
Jessica Brill to plate Snyder and Caron to cap off a five-run bottom of the first.
Wagner pushed across a run in the top of the second, but Stonehill got it right back in the home half of the second. When the Seahawks looked to be closely the gap on the Skyhawk scoring three times in the top of the third, Stonehill answered with three of their own in the bottom.
The Skyhawks broke the game open putting up a six-spot in the bottom of the fourth to extend the lead to 15-4.
GAME 2: WAGNER 13, STONEHILL 4
The Seahawks opened game two putting up three runs in the top of the first, but Skyhawks managed to get one pack in the bottom of the frame. Wagner went back up by three scoring once in the top of the second, but the Skyhawks erased the three-run deficit to scoring three times in the bottom of the second.
Sophomore
Amelia Styskal-Ward was instrumental for the Skyhawks in relief, keeping the Seahawks off the board over three innings before they pushed across five runs in the fifth and tacked on four in the sixth to take a 13-4 lead.
