Box Score STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (March 15, 2026) – The Stonehill softball team dropped the three-game series to Wagner, with an 15-1 loss in Sunday afternoon's rubber game.
STONEHILL HIGHLIGHTS
- Sophomore Sarah Taylor went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in the bottom of the third.
- Sophomore Taylor Schoonmaker recorded her first stolen base of the season in the bottom of the third.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Wagner scored first in the top of the first to take a 1-0 lead, but Stonehill answered two innings later. In the home half of the third, the Skyhawks were pressuring the Seahawks pitching. Sophomore
Taylor Schoonmaker reached on a hit-by-pitch then advanced 60 feet on a stolen based before coming around to score on a single off the bat of sophomore
Sarah Taylor.
The Seahawks re-gained the lead pushing across a run a half inning later before putting up five in the top of seventh to extend their lead to 7-1. Wagner added to its lead batting around in the top of the seventh.
